PROPOSAL FOR THE GREEN RIVER KILLER PROJECT
OBJECTIVE:
Realization of a conceptual art project translated into
a comprehensive multi-media installation.
THEME:
"THE GREEN RIVER KILLER PROJECT"
A perpetual project due to the ongoing police investigation presently.
The killer of 49 women or more has yet to be apprehended even though the
killings only lasted two years, (1982-1984). This installation reflects the
situations that the victims have been through, the investigation, the killers
profile, and what the killer did to claim his victims.
The chronic hunting game that exists between the victim, the killer,
the police, and society stems from prey and predator.
The victim being the prey, the killer changing from the predator to the prey of the
police, the police change from predator of the killer to the prey of society for
not being able to apprehend the killer, and society which changes from predator
of the police to the prey again (the victim).
REALIZATION:
The Sculpture Center will feature a comprehensive multi- media installation.
It will include various "GREEN RIVER KILLER" drawings on the existing walls,
tent structures, sifters, police facts, autopsies, shovels, etc.
ARTISTIC BACKROUND:
My art revolves around the theme of SERIAL KILLERS. In the Seventies, nation and
international police notice the "popping up everywhere" of serial killers as a
new trend in crime. It has taken another twenty years for society to become aware
of this phenomenon.
APPROACH;
I am researching the fine line of "Every society has the criminals it deserves."
(Michel Foucault)
My art is a literal translation to a visual conception with informational humor.
It is the study of traits, logistics and history.
The reconstruction of events and profiles is a part of history. Serial killings are a
phenomenon that will be reflected upon in the future.
PERSONAL WORK HISTORY:
To date I have researched up to 1000 serial killers from 1900 to 1993.
In the past, I have profiled 8 to 10 serial killers. the artistic results are
conceptual installations of various sizes utilizing a number of media, from pastel
drawings to video-tapes, from photos and xeroxes to scribblings, texts and
quotations.
