PRINCIPLE FUNCTION

The principle aspects of this piece are;
  • Fuel Funny Car will be attached and stabilized to the circular platform, which is 20ft in diameter (6.096 meters).
  • Circular platform turns in 1/4 sequences rapidly, when participant's head is inserted into window. A motion detector inside the racecar sends signals to the main computer board that starts the movement. The platforms' movement will be controlled by hand controls on safety bar @ seat platform and has the ability to be controlled by the computer also. (CIRCULAR PLATFORM MECHANICAL TURNING SEQUENCES WILL BE POWERED BY PNEUMATICS)
  • The multimedia system will be installed on customized media platforms inside the racecar.
  • The electronics will run in a pipe that is stabilized from the floor of the gallery to the top of the inside of the racecar and feed underneath the mechanical circular platform. The other option will be to feed the pipe from the ceiling to the circular platform. In both installations, the pipe will be stable.
  • Each multimedia platform will be wired electronically via computer.
  • The four video's to play on small monitors inside the racecar on the multimedia platform when head of participant is inserted into window.
  • 4 large monitors / showing the same video's in gallery
  • 3 monitors will run cartoons
  • One video monitor to show the face of the participant

PERFORMANCE

  • Participant will be guided to climb onto seat platform, be seated, and put into restraints by crewmembers in the nonactive position.
  • Instructions are read to participant.
  • The restraints will fasten the main part of the body to the platform, the two arms will be restrained in two positions (forearm and wrists) to the front safety bar / both legs will be restrained at ankles to foot platform. (All restraints fastened by crewmembers)
  • Emergency stop button explained
  • Crew then checks restraints again for safety
  • Crew sets position of seat platform / adjusting to the height of participant.
  • Participant then is installed and locked into the active position by crew members.
  • Crew then checks all safety bars and lock into position.
  • Crew then leaves platform.
  • When participant is in active position (head inserted) / platform starts turning at designated speed / video monitors start inside racecar and in gallery / audio section starts (racecars' engine) with the sounds of the drag races / aroma of the dragster is released
  • Participant has controls @ safety bar to adjust speed of circular platform change audio volume change video images, or to stop altogether (emergency button).
  • Participant or computer will determine The performance time.
  • Computer software and hardware will be the main control for the multimedia system, as well as the mechanical sequencing of the circular platform during the installation / performance.
  • Restraint system installed on seat platform will enable participant to be safe during the performance.
